INTRO: I want to press a truth today regarding the return of our Lord in a different light. Recently there has been much said in the media mocking the return of the Lord. Mr. Harold Camping has made a mockery of the Lord’s return by twice predicting a date only to be proved wrong. He is now saying the Lord will return on October 21 of this year. (2011). World is laughing!
I am reminded that the Scriptures speak much in the last days regarding scoffers. Peter 3:3-4 tells us, “Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? ..” The world was having “rapture” parties on May 21st
The Bible is very clear regarding the return of the Lord.
Matthew 24:42 “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.”
Matthew 24:36 “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.”
The coming of our Lord Jesus is an imminent coming: it could happen at any moment.
With all that is happening in our world, one cannot but come to a conclusion that Jesus’ return is soon.
I read this the other day.. "You ain't seen nothing yet!" Tornadoes continue across our land. Record numbers of death, destruction, injured, and missing. Floods continue along the Mississippi. Look for flooding along the Missouri next. Stock market dropped 279 points the other day. Crop futures are suffering. Jobs are way down. Foreclosures continue to rise.
The September U.N. decision to recognize Palestinian Statehood is around the corner. The Obama administration is not leading an opposition to this. Obama continues to give billions of dollars to Muslim Brotherhood. American oil companies harassed, tied up in red tape, forbidden to drill and explore. Foreign Arab countries receiving record amounts of U.S. dollars for their oil. It goes on and on.
Government, corporate, and private computers hacked and attacked. The mark is coming in the name of peace and safety. The prelude is orchestrated chaos.
It is here and waxing worse and worse”
Of course no man knows when our Lord will return but one cannot come to any conclusion other than.. “The Lord’s return draweth nigh.”
We are faced with severe spiritual conditions regarding the Lord’s return.
We are faced with the dullness of man to Spiritual truth. Churches are losing ground not Gaining ground.
We are faced with the dullness of man to Spiritual dangers. They do not see the pitfalls of life. The sin of the day is the same as the Sin of Sodom and Gomorrah. The State of Illinois just approved same sex unions.
We are faced with the dullness of man to Prophesied events.
Matthew 24:6-8 “And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.”
Our lives should be affected in the light of Christ return.
In the light of His return…….
BE ALERT (Ro. 13:11-14)
Romans 13:11-14 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof. (add to your faith)
2 Peter 1:8-9 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

Psalms 100:2 Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
